Spring Wedding

Charlie's bestfriend Grady unconsciously chose our wedding date on the day of vernal equinox or the first day of Spring which is March 21. He will be Best Man and he only has that day available. hahaha! Charlie and I initally talked about having it on the 14th or 28th of March but since Grady is availble only on the 21st we decided to have it on that date.

I researched about Vernal Equinox after Charlie told me about it. He has been talking to his friends and found out about the coincidence. It seems pretty amazing how unaware we are of its significance.

Here's more from the web.

The vernal equinox occurs between March 20 and 21 in the northern hemisphere, signaling the official astronomical start to Spring. It is a scientifically measured moment in time as the Earth crosses the celestial equator moving northward. On the vernal equinox the sun rises at the eastern most point of its arc, perfectly balancing the hours of daylight and darkness. During this 24-hour period, night and day each last precisely 12 hours. Henceforth the sun’s arc becomes higher and higher in the sky and days longer until reaching it’s zenith on the summer solstice.

Although it is a scientific event, the vernal equinox represents in a very real way, a time of renewed life and new birth.
